DBI-SALA’s dual mode descent is exclusive to their brand.  Their unique RSQ™ system allows the worker to choose between two modes of operation before they hook in.  Thanks to this ingenious system you get two products in one.  The two modes are as follows:

In Fall Arrest Mode (assisted rescue) the internal break will sense and stop the fall.  Then an assisted rescue can be carried out in a normal fashion.

In Automatic Descent Mode (self-rescue/decent) the internal break will sense and stop the fall just like in Fall Arrest Mode.  Once the fall has been stopped a centrifugal controlled brake will activate and lower the worker gently down to safety.

DBI-SALA's Sealed-Blok Self Retracting Lifelines (SRL) with RSQ™ Dual Mode Rescue Operation capabilities have been designed with durability in mind. They are corrosion resistant and are built with stainless steel end plates and aluminum housing. This allows them to withstand being used in the harsh conditions of chemical rich environments, salt/water rich environments, and worksites with lots of dust and dirt. They can even be completely submerged in water.

The DBI-SALA Sealed-Blok comes in 50' 85' or 130 lengths, with the option of stainless steel or galvanized cable, and with the choice of stainless steel or galvanized steel snap hook.
